Frankfurt School and the MiM Programme
The Master in Management is excellent in that it prepares students for the job market. What I love the most is its ‘3-Day Model’ and the interesting concentration options, setting the programme apart from the others. The curriculum is constantly updated and student feedback regarding faculty or the curriculum is taken seriously.
The ‘3-Day Model’ allows you to work part-time, learn a language and even travel during your spare time. Learning German can be very beneficial when looking for jobs. However, there are great career opportunities for international students and the FS Career Services are always there to help you through every step. Recently, I got a summer internship offer in the field of Business Development at a booming startup in Frankfurt, which I know wouldn’t have been possible without Frankfurt School.
The different concentrations provided are Strategy & Organisation, Manufacturing, Digital Business and the newly introduced Marketing and International Business concentrations. I chose Digital Business, and this semester we are pitching a healthcare sector digital business model idea in collaboration with PwC. The Digital Business concentration also has one-day workshops with companies including McKinsey, CAPCO and Sopra Steria.
Student Initiatives at FS
One of my favourite things about being at Frankfurt School is the possibility to participate in a number of different student initiatives such as FS MUN (Model United Nations), FS Rowing, FS Cheerleading, FS StartUp, FS Enactus and many more. There is something for everyone and if you have an interesting idea, you can easily start your own student initiative.
I had the opportunity to represent Frankfurt School at the MUN Conference in New York. The conference had 3000 participants from all over the world so this was an excellent opportunity for networking. The closing ceremony of the conference was held at the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations Headquarters in New York. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had!
Overall being a part of FS MUN was a great learning experience. It made me more aware of global affairs and politics, and improved my debating, writing and communication skills. I will always be grateful to Frankfurt School for making such opportunities so easily accessible.
The City & Student Life
Frankfurt city is a prime hub for well established companies and startups in Germany that offer many career opportunities for students and graduates. It is easy to get around and socialise in this international city that offers an array of cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs. The majority of people speak English and are very helpful and friendly to new-comers.
Frankfurt offers the best of both worlds with its skyline and urban city feel as well as beautiful traditional German architecture. I personally love walking on the city streets or by the Main River and exploring the culture and its beauty.
It is easy to get around from Frankfurt. I have travelled to 6 cities in Germany and 4 other countries (Netherlands, France, Luxembourg and USA). So if you’re a travel buff like me, being in Frankfurt is definitely a dream.
All in all I am so happy with my decision to move to Germany and study at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and I wouldn’t want it any other way 🙂
