I selected Frankfurt School within the partners of my university because of its reputation in finance. When I arrived, I didn’t know many people, but many events were organized to make us feel welcome and connect with each other. At the end of the exchange I decided to apply to be a full-time student. I believed that it would open a lot more doors for me in the finance sector than my previous university ever could.

Networking Opportunities

Apart from learning important notions in class, Frankfurt School hosts many events, such as the Career Fair, where a lot of companies from Goldman Sachs to Lufthansa come to see the students on campus to talk about job opportunities.

Conferences are also hosted every week on different topics of Finance and Management, such as “how to get a job in Germany as a foreigner”, “FinTechs”, “Start-ups night”, “Women in Management positions”. The latter is organized by the “Women in Business” initiative, a society for women to fraternize and support each other in the job market.

A lot of events are also what we call “Business Games”, they are organized by companies in order to select the best students thanks to a practical application of their knowledge. It is an opportunity to be noticed, meet HRs and managers from companies you might be interested in.

An interesting point to mention is that we get access to a platform “Jobteaser” to keep us posted on the events I previously mentioned and on job opportunities, especially the ones that are exclusively reserved for Frankfurt School students. The University has partnerships with a number of companies to give priority to Frankfurt School students when a job offer gets posted.

Courses at FS

Regarding the courses, they require a lot of personal work in addition to lectures. You can expect group works, case studies and homework. The program is challenging, and a good English is strongly recommended as there can be some extensive reading of academic articles, but nothing impossible with the right amount of work. The exams require more than a basic understanding of the class, and it could be challenging to reach high grades if you are planning to work in parallel.

Overall, I am very happy with the knowledge and opportunities that was provided to me and I highly recommend you to apply !

I joined Frankfurt School in February 2019 as an exchange student.
