Last month, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in this competition alongside my fellow team members Greta Hiß, Nicolette Peytchev and Julius Degenkolb.

It was a huge success. We achiheved first place in both qualifying cases – one six hours and the other 24 hours long – and entered the finals with a perfect score. After the 6-hour finals case, we placed top 5 among 15 universities from all around the world.

What is the FS Business Case Initiative?

Our mission is to develop future business leaders by fostering critical thinking, teamwork, and global exposure through participation in international case competitions, while proudly representing Frankfurt School on a global stage. The initiative enables students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, build lasting professional networks, and showcase the excellence of our institution.

We train our members in case solving, presenting and critical thinking and compete in international case competitions while creating a community of like-minded case solvers.

7 Unforgettable Days in Mexio

Sunday – A Warm Welcome

Our first day in Mexico was marked by a warm welcome by our Ambassador Sofia and a traditional lunch accompanied by Mariachi. The event was officially kicked off with a welcome cocktail and the division-draw in the evening.

Monday – First Case: Artex

The week started right away with our first 6-hour case on Artex, a Mexican premium furniture brand. We developed a solution targeting sustainable growth while preserving brand identity and craftsmanship and convinced the jury of our strategy – reaching first place in our division. The day was rounded up by a traditional Mexican dinner and “Arrachera” becoming my new favorite dish.

Tuesday – Cultural Discovery

Our first social activity was a rally through Guadalajara – exploring its rich historical and cultural heritage. At Tlaquepaque, we experienced the beautifully decorated streets in celebration of Día de los Muertos and had again a traditional dinner accompanied by Mariachi.

Wednesday – 24-hour Case: Tajín

The core of every case competition is the 24-hour case. The case was on the Mexican company Tajín best known for its signature chili-lime seasoning. Our challenge was to develop a solution for Tajín to remain relevant and emotionally connected to Gen Z and Gen Alpha – both in Mexico and globally.

Thursday – Calaverandia

Having slept less than two hours, Thursday started with our pitches for the 24-hour case. We presented in front of Tajín’s CEO and convinced the jury of our solution, reaching again first place. In the evening, we had the chance to visit Calaverandia, a seasonal theme park in Guadalajara, that celebrates the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) tradition with interactive activities, shows, and rides. A truly fascinating experience.

Friday – Finals: Atlas FC Feminil

Having achieved a perfect score in the qualifying cases, we moved to the finals and solved an additional 6-hour case on Atlas FC Femenil – the women’s football team of Club Atlas, based in Guadalajara. We developed a strategy on how Atlas FC Femenil can transform into a financially self-sustaining and culturally relevant football brand while balancing the heritage of Atlas FC with the need for a differentiated identity.

The end of this unique week was highlighted by a gala dinner – celebrating the achievements of all participants and rounding up all our experiences and learnings. This competition was not only about case solving, but teamwork, friendship, culture, personal growth and adventure. Bringing like-minded talents together and creating a community far beyond borders and competitions.

Join the FS Business Case Community!

Do you enjoy solving complex problems and working in a team?
Are you studying at Frankfurt School and want to represent our university internationally?

Then write us at FS-Business-Case@fs-studentinitiatives.de using your FS student email.

Follow us on Instagram @fsbusinesscase for updates on workshops, competitions, and events.

A big thank-you to Frankfurt School, and especially to our coaches, Professor Jerry Guo and Cindy Lehmann, for their guidance and support.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Frankfurt School Förderverein.
