Leave a footprint …

Handprints on cave walls, painted shapes on rocks, the slogan “Kilroy* was here” (*name interchangeable) and love padlocks on bridges – humans have always had a tendency to leave their mark.

… so does the EMBA Class of 2018.

We, i.e. the EMBA Class of 2018, were one of the very first classes to use Frankfurt School’s fancy new campus, more precisely the listed Präsidialbau, at times when construction work was still ongoing in the main building. While we were enjoying lectures as well as the new facilities (and after enjoying a private tour of the new campus, also having noticed artful portraits of large donors in the foyer), the idea came up to collect a certain sum of our own for the development of the new campus and indirectly in support of future Bachelor, Master, EMBA and PhD students. The sum should be meant as a gift to the community as we as a class had also grown together to form a community of fate, with members travelling to our gatherings from places as far as Barbados, Seoul and Almaty. When we found out that donors could perpetuate themselves on plaques to be hanged up in the foyer, our motivation to collect a reasonable sum grew further (the possibility to qualify for a plaque only formed a secondary motivation driver though, of course…).

EMBA goes for gold!

After a couple of days, the class community managed to reach the “gold plaque” status which was then proudly accepted by representatives of the class.

We are through with lectures now and are working on our final thesis projects. On the one hand we are glad to have completed the “attendance part”, on the other hand, however, we already miss our get-togethers. It is good to know that we have created a small but fine personal memorial to remember our time together here in Frankfurt…

EMBA Class of 2018 was here!
