This March, my teammate Yannick Saenger and I had the thrilling opportunity to represent Frankfurt School of Finance & Management at the HEC Business Game 2025, an intense and dynamic case competition that brings together some of the brightest young minds in business. Over two days, students from top universities worldwide tackled real-world business challenges, collaborated with industry leaders, and tested their ability to think critically under pressure. The experience was not just about solving cases - it was about adaptability, innovation, and pushing personal boundaries.

Earlier this month, I had the incredible opportunity to represent Frankfurt School of Finance & Management at the HEC Business Game 2025 held in Paris. Known as one of the most competitive and prestigious case competitions in Europe, the event brought together 150 talented students from 55 universities and 33 countries, creating a dynamic and intellectually charged environment. Over two days, we tackled four real-world business challenges designed by industry-leading companies, pushing our strategic thinking, collaboration skills, and resilience to the limit.

Exploring New York City, visiting global companies, attending inspiring workshops, and participating in the NMUN conference – ten unforgettable days filled with learning, new impressions, laughter and lasting memories.

The ideal of the independent thinker has been central to our intellectual culture. The great Enlightenment philosopher Immanuel Kant wrote that “Have courage to use your own reason!” could be called the motto of enlightenment. To fail to use one’s own reason was giving in to cowardice and laziness. Rather than taking responsibility for one’s life, one was relying on the instructions of some authority.

Das Studium war für mich mehr als ein akademischer Abschluss. Es war eine Zeit des Wachstums – fachlich, aber vor allem persönlich. Besonders wertvoll war für mich auch die Erkenntnis, wie wichtig ein starkes Netzwerk und gegenseitige Unterstützung sind.

Das Testament, eine so notwendige wie immer wieder aufgeschobene Einrichtung. Nur 35% der Deutschen haben ein Testament. Das ist ebenso bedauerlich wie gefährlich. Denn die gewillkürte, also testamentarisch und damit individuell festgelegte Erbfolge unterscheidet sich unter Umständen sehr von der gesetzlichen Erbfolge.
