Engineering concepts – Why language matters

Current political discourse teems with discussions about language. People get hot-headed about gender-neutral language, street names, what one is “still allowed to say,” and the limits of political correctness. Recently, the German state of Bavaria’s conservative government even went so far as to ban outright gender-neutral spellings in all legal and administrative state regulation, the justification being that such spellings would make official regulations harder to understand.

You may have heard of the difference between an invention and an innovation; an innovation’s sole purpose is to be a solution to particular problems, while an invention is a solution that doesn’t necessarily solve a problem.
Die Entscheidung für ein Studium an der Frankfurt School (FS) fiel mir leicht, nicht zuletzt, weil die FS in Deutschland führend in der Forschung ist. Besonders beeinflusst hat dies den Schreibprozess meiner Thesis im Master in Corporate Performance & Restructuring (MCPR).
