Here at Frankfurt School we’ve just reached the halfway point of the academic year – the end of the winter semester, which runs from September to February. The Frankfurt School Full-time MBA class has just finished their final exams and is enjoying a much-deserved break before the next semester starts.
Here are 5 things our students have certainly discoverd by now, now that they are halfway through their MBA — and things you can look forward to as an MBA candidate at FS!

1. Time management is skill that must be learned — not somethig we’re all born with.

It’s no simple task to balance the workload of classroom sessions, groupwork, readings, and assignment preparation, all while preparing a CV and cover letters for your next career step. These time management skills will come in handy for your next job!

2. A debate with your classmates over coffee can sometimes teach you more than an afternoon of lectures.

This isn’t to say you should skip class! But don’t miss out on those social gatherings with your fellow students — that’s where some of the best networking and career-building takes place.

3. Managing your classmates is helping you understand how to manage future employees.

The Full-time MBA curriculum involves a lot of group work. The process you go through of assigning responsibilities within the group, managing expectations, and setting deadlines is an invaluable skill for leading teams in future management jobs.

4. Leadership is not just about telling other people what to do.

You’re learning and working alongside a lot of smart, talented people — and no one MBA student inherently has more authority than any other. Leadership in these kinds of settings is much more about influencing and exciting other people on your team in order to convince them that your plan makes sense. It is about developing a common goal that everyone in the group wants to work hard to achieve.

5. Caffiene is a gift from the heavens.

There’s nothing like a fresh cup of coffee or a strong tea to keep the finance and management inspiration flowing after a long night of case-study preparation!

Looking forward to the second half of our MBA!
