A Memorable Evening at the ECB

On the evening of 23 January 2025, I had the unique opportunity to attend the Semester Opening Event at the European Central Bank (ECB), organised specifically for Master’s students at Frankfurt School. As a second-semester Master of Finance student, this event was a fantastic way to kick off the semester and explore the critical challenges facing the ECB today.
I received this award as a woman who left everything behind—my family, friends, career, and a familiar life—in pursuit of a better future. Guided by democratic ideals and the dream of a free and successful life, I arrived in Germany in September 2023, completely alone.

The Sant'Anna Business Game is a prestigious event that beckons the brightest minds from renowned universities globally and becomes the stage for an unforgettable adventure. We, Eshaan Kaul, Nabarun Ray and Sachin Baid, had the honour of representing Frankfurt School at the Sant'Anna Business Game 2023.
I chose Frankfurt School's Master of Finance programme primarily due to its exceptional reputation in finance. The university's strong track record, academic excellence and industry connections made it an obvious choice for me. Moreover, the unique three-day model, which enables students to work and study simultaneously, was a significant draw.

Deciding where to pursue a master's degree in finance is no small task. After completing a dual bachelor's programme, I had a clear vision of what I wanted from my next academic journey. The reputation of Frankfurt School as a leading business school was an initial attraction. And academically, FS stood out with its high-quality courses and accomplished professors.
The HEC Business Game is an annual competition that brings together students from top universities worldwide to compete in solving real-life business cases. We had the honour to represent FS at the HEC Business Game 2023 and are proud that we performed exceptionally well, winning the overall victory of the business game.

As soon as I joined the Sustainable Finance Team at Deloitte in early 2022, I knew I wanted to further develop and extend my skills and theoretical knowledge in this field. Once I saw the newly offered Sustainable Finance concentration, the decision to complete my Master of Finance degree at FS was very easy for me.
When seeking a consulting, audit or advisory career, the Financial Advisory concentration is the go-to choice for Master of Finance students. Students are challenged to use knowledge in decision-making and more. This blog post will highlight my motivation for choosing FS, the Financial Advisory concentration and my experience as a student.
