I am Jun Lu, one of 46 “The Frankfurt MBA” students here at Frankfurt School. Having a background in the automotive industry I was hoping to boost my career with one of the top MBA programs in Germany.
Thanks to the strong finance and business expertise of Frankfurt School, I was able to acquire very broad but solid knowledge in finance, accounting, economics and management. This is very crucial to achieve my career goal. All real business cases in the lectures as well as various business competitions such as the Stock Picking Competition from Ivey Business School have helped me to expand my horizons and to prepare myself for the real business challenge in the future.
Moreover, I could establish my first contact in other areas such as financial institutions, consulting companies and start-ups (field trip at Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Börse & ECB, interview training by Accenture and various start-up events). On the Chinese-European Banking Day in the Frankfurt Euro Finance Week last December, I had the chance to capture the big picture of China and Europa’s economic environment and monetary policies. Fireside talks with a few executives of the DAX companies and some successful start-up founders has inspired me a lot.
Meanwhile I could also widen my industrial network, thanks to the growing focus of Frankfurt School on the industry.
What helped me getting contact with Porsche was the Porsche field trip in Zuffenhausen. Read a blog article about our experience at Porsche.
On Industry Day, one of the on campus career fairs at Frankfurt School, I met some more big players from the automotive industry such as Daimler, Kautex Textron and Goodyear Dunlop.
Connecting with successful Chinese managers was of great value to get the exclusive first-hand experiences of career and personal development. What we learned from the last Boardroom meeting with Dr. Dahai Yu was to integrate into the culture and employment structure, to be open-hearted and last but not least, to listen to others more, especially as a manager.
I’m very excited to rejoin the industry end of this year, applying all the skills and knowledge I acquired from the MBA program.
