Why I decided to apply

After ten years of work experience as a lawyer and then as a General Manager in the healthcare industry, I felt that the time was ripe to pursue my graduate business studies. I had a master’s degree in law, but I did not have academic knowledge in business administration. So, I started to look for specialized general management programmes with a focus on the healthcare business. Therefore, the MBA in International Healthcare Management programme, stood out from others, with international site visits, flexible curriculum, multinational class, multiple international accreditations, and so on. Due to my busy professional life, also, being a mother of two kids and a wife the flexibility of the programme was vital. The MBA in International Healthcare Management part-time programme learning schedule was very compatible with my professional and personal life.  Moreover, the school offered a scholarship for women working in the healthcare field, which strengthened my motivation.

First impressions

I’ve just finished module 3 and I would like to use this opportunity to thank Prof. Sibbel, Prof. Rentzsch, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Gottschalk, my classmates, and the entire MBA programme academic staff for this wonderful experience. In this module, we were introduced to “Strategic Management & Marketing”, way of teaching was novel for me and quite impressive. We were introduced to Markstrat, which is a very challenging simulation game where you must make several decisions in finance, marketing, research, and development areas. The first two modules also related to finance and controlling were useful for me, as I have already applied newly gained knowledge into my daily business operations.

One of the notable things in the learning process are international industry leader guest speakers who are sharing their real-life and inspiring experiences. Additionally, it is an amazing opportunity to get into direct communication with such successful personalities. Choosing this programme was the best decision that I have made in my professional life. My impressions exceeded expectations and I am glad to become a part of a highly qualified and diverse Frankfurt School community. I would like to outline the flexibility which the school offered us due to COVID-19. Frankfurt School managed to deliver the modules in a hybrid format where we could either attend classes at the campus or online. Also, students could travel and visit international locations in the following year.

Future expectations and impacts after graduation

I am sure that the combination of newly learned knowledge and gained skills together with an international experience will have a huge impact on me personally and professionally, which I am going to leverage during my career.  In my opinion, one of the main assets of this programme is the diversity of the class and the international networking opportunities. I hope to build a lifelong friendship with my peers. At this stage, I am looking forward to the following modules to deep dive into the specifics of health topics and the amazing experiences to come.
