Taking the next step

After choosing a finance concentration during my bachelor’s and doing several internships in the field, a Master of Finance was the next logical step. The bachelor’s degree at Eichstätt-Ingolstadt WFI gave me good knowledge and prepared me well for any kind of master’s studies, so I was ready for my next step. Frankfurt School already had a legendary reputation among my fellow bachelor’s students as the elite educational institution for number crunchers and valuation magicians of any kind in Germany.

During the application process, I profited from the early bird discount and was able to speak to current students about their time and experiences at FS – both advantages of starting your application sooner rather than later!

The perfect learning environment

The semester began with the Outdoor Campus – two days of teambuilding exercises, relaxing and getting to know each other before classes began. I could not think of a better way to start my studies!

While studying here I continue to realize how good the connections and services are. Frankfurt School has a close connection to Frankfurt’s banking and finance world- the widespread network is impressive. I can’t think of one week where we haven’t had networking events, corporate events or conferences on our campus. We have even had visits from people such a Dr.Kukies, the Co-CEO of Goldman Sachs Germany.

Frankfurt School offers a combined master’s studies and working experience through the “3-Day Model”. This means that you study on Saturdays and two days during the week, allowing enough time for part-time work throughout your master’s studies. The careers services are very supportive in helping you to find work. They offer a lot including working student positions exclusively for FS students and a broad range of internship opportunities.

Many professors and guest lecturers were or still are executives in the business world. This makes their lecturers really interesting since the content is practical and the lectures are interactive. There is a high focus on team based exercises, like case studies with tight deadlines, papers and presentations of recent findings. The lecturers are able to present even challenging topics in a way that is easy to understand.

The FS network

I am proud to be a part of the outstanding and ever growing Frankfurt School network. We have top executives in the Banking world among our alumnus, including Alexander Doll, CEO of Barclays Germany, who visits the university on a regular basis to recruit new summiteers for his team. Some of the FS alumni have even made it to the Forbes 30 under 30 lists.

Being hardworking, disciplined, ambitious and teamwork orientated are the main characteristics of Master of Finance Students at Frankfurt School. This really sets us apart from students at other universities and is an excellent environment to be in. One of the main bullet points on the teaching agenda at FS is that the WE succeeds over the I!

Enormous potential and high ambition attract people that are alike.  We all want to be part of the FS success story in the years to come. If the above points appeal to you, then FS is the right place for you.
