Gehaltsverhandlungen gehören zu den wenigen Situationen im Berufsleben, in denen selbst erfahrene Professionals überraschend unsicher agieren. Der Grund liegt weniger in fehlender Sachkenntnis als in unbewussten Annahmen: der Sorge, als fordernd wahrgenommen zu werden, der Erwartung, Leistung müsse „für sich sprechen“, oder dem inneren Glaubenssatz, Loyalität werde automatisch honoriert. Diese Muster sind menschlich.

I’ve always been an engineer at heart. Not just by education, but by instinct. I look for structure. I want to understand what holds a system together, where it breaks under stress and what needs to change so it becomes stable again. Early in my career I believed - quite honestly - that the hardest part of progress would be technology.
Enrolling in the  Master of Leadership in Sustainable Finance at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management has been one of the most valuable experiences of my career. It challenged me academically, inspired me personally, and gave me tools I can apply every day in my professional life.

It started in early 1991: an ad in the printed edition of Die Bank, the monthly journal every overambitious Azubi subscribed to, promoted a new form of academic education – the Hochschule für Bankwirtschaft (HfB).
My academic journey, which included a Master in Management and a Bachelor of Science in Management, Philosophy & Economics, has been instrumental in both my professional development and entrepreneurial ventures.

Bridging the Gap: My Journey across Technology and Sustainability

Working in Sustainability required being much more comfortable with ambiguity, than I was used to in the Tech world. The evolving European Sustainability legislative and regulatory landscape required crafting quite flexible strategies and plans to keep up with the unknowns.
The Master of Finance (MoF) programme has not only helped me build a foundation and fill the knowledge gap in financial studies, but it has also exposed me to different career possibilities and paths within the industry.

It’s an incredible time to build your professional self and connect with those you can support and, of course, who can also support you. Identify what you want to accomplish, take courses, make friends, connect with business partners and execute through the master thesis.

As an alumna of the Master in Data Analytics & Management programme, I have witnessed a unique blend of diversity and commonality within our community. This diversity does more than just enrich our academic experience; it provides a prism through which we can view and understand the multifaceted nature of career development.
As a Master in Management alum, it was quite nostalgic to be back, listening to the lecture in which I would present. This time, not as a student but as a company representative for Daimler Truck to enhance the practical learning experience within the programme. It was a fun experience not only to present but also to answer many questions asked by the students.
