Prachi Jain, our Master in Management Alumna, recently visited our Leadership & Organisational behaviour class to share further insights as a Consultant at Deloitte.

Prachi works in Digital Enablement with Deloitte focusing on change management in large-scale technology implementation projects. One of her current projects is to help a global pharmaceutical company to automate and integrate sales, marketing and customer service on one platform. The knowledge and skills she gained through the Master in Management (MiM) Programme at Frankfurt School with a specialization in Digital Business are particularly relevant to this project. The subjects that helped Prachi build her cutting-edge digital skills were data analytics, digital marketing, digital transformation and digital innovation modules.

Why your thesis topic really matters

Prachi caught the eye of Deloitte management thanks to her Master thesis on “The use of AI in HR recruitment”, as well as her competencies in digitalization. Her thesis supervisor, Prof. Claus Rerup, teaches Leadership and Organizational Behaviour. Prachi recalls the topic for her thesis came up during one of the classes with Prof. Rerup.

Last week, Prof. Rerup invited Prachi to speak at his online Leadership class that focused on the “Dark Side of Agility”. Prachi shared her insights on AI, using the findings from her thesis, on AI’s use in the future of workforce management, analyzing both benefits and challenges that AI and technology bring to recruitment and specifically on how AI is now being applied to access talent and talent mobility, augmented writing, intelligent sourcing, chatbots, automated pre-screening and matching processes. This is relevant and useful for MiM students in making their job searches more efficient. Today many companies such as Procter&Gamble, Johnson and Johnson, Intel, CVS, Telekom, J.P.Morgan, Goldman Sachs, or Coca Cola use AI for their talent acquisition processes.

Experience throughout your master’s pays off

In addition to sharing her insights on AI and digitalization, she gave practical tips about writing a good thesis. She emphasized the importance of learning by doing, connecting with experts via LinkedIn for interviews, collecting data and starting the writing process as early as possible.

Studying in Frankfurt allowed Prachi to get professional experience throughout the two year program during which she interned with three companies including a startup and a large corporation focusing on digital marketing. During her studies she actively participated in student-lead initiatives. She was part of a Model UN project and represented Frankfurt School in New York at the UN HQ. That experience ignited an interest in international affairs and helped improve her public speaking skills. Looking back at her time in Frankfurt, she says the practical approach at Frankfurt School really prepared her for the business world where good communication, including presentations, is the key.
