My journey in capital markets, risk auditing and class leadership

After completing my bachelor’s degree – with honors in finance as well as studying abroad as an Erasmus student I intended to continue my studies and pursue an international career in Germany, a country with a strong educational system, the best job opportunities in finance, and a welcoming attitude toward international students.

Why I chose Frankfurt School

Finance is a field that has always fascinated me. With a bachelor’s degree and more than two years of experience in finance, I realized that this is a genuinely challenging and interesting area for me. I chose Frankfurt School (FS) because of its world-class teaching style and high ranking for its finance programme. FS also offers a wonderful multicultural atmosphere that improves the study environment both in and out of the classroom. Participating in networking events hosted by FS and the career services team allows me to gain practical insights from industry professionals while also expanding my network.

Aside from academics, I was looking for a school with a strong community spirit. Following COVID-19, FS has gone above and beyond to ensure that students are safe and stress-free. Students get the finest learning experience possible. I have been studying online this month, but I have never felt like I was missing out on anything.

Take advantage of what FS can offer you

In fact, overcoming challenges and understanding how to turn them into opportunities is a key life skill that can be applied in both academics and workplace. One of the benefits of the Master of Finance programme is how students can study and work at the same time – an investment in yourself and your future, which the 3-day week model enables.

When I decided to begin my master’s journey, I was already working as a financial analyst for a company that specializes in AI-based financial data processing. Even though I knew it would be difficult, I didn’t give up on the notion of continuing my studies since I had a huge goal to work towards: graduating and obtaining the skillset necessary to become a successful financial specialist!

A great honor: getting a full tuition fee waiver for Armenian students

While looking through the website I discovered that FS, in cooperation with Vahe and Bella Andonians, provides a full tuition fee waiver to an Armenian student each year. When preparing my application I had no expectations that I would be the one who would be awarded a 100% scholarship.  I was on top of the world when I opened my E-mail and saw the words, “You are awarded with the Full Sponsorship for Armenian Students”.  I was so excited that I told the good news to my family and friends right away. I have never seen my parents that happy and proud.

It’s a great honor to become a scholar at FS. It comes with a sense of self-reliance and a feeling of giving back to the community. My volunteering work in Armenia has spanned seven years, and this scholarship motivates me to leverage my expertise and help to build a stronger economy in my home country.

Furthermore, I have always believed that the best learning experience comes by pushing our boundaries. I was able to become a new member of FS Invest’s M&A department and join the FS Ambassador Programme with the goal of broadening my professional and social skills. As much as I like the current online events, I can’t wait to attend on campus once I get to Frankfurt and become a longstanding member of the FS family.
