Ronald Klingebiel is Professor of Strategy at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. He researches decision-making problems under uncertainty, particularly as regards resource allocation in innovation and strategy. You will find Ronald’s writing on technology strategy at HBR, Forbes, and The Conversation. Few outside investors can make sense of the bedazzling array of innovation opportunities emerging from African countries. Even local elites are often too removed to fully grasp the logic of a mass-market business proposition and the risks that might be associated with it. To tap Africa’s innovation potential, firms require special strategies to manage commercial uncertainty.
