Studying and living in Frankfurt: An international student's experience
Learning by doing: How FS and PwC prepare me for my future in digital business

I have been fascinated by the financial markets since I was in school. Even though I didn’t have a clue what they were about, I could just feel that this was the place I belonged. Studying at Hamburg School of Business Administration whilst working at Commerzbank AG allowed me to put theory into practice, improving my knowledge and understanding. I loved it.

My next step was a Master in Finance and I wanted:
– The opportunity to work
– A personal learning experience
– Readily available contact with professors
– An extremely international environment

With this in mind, there was only one logical choice for me: Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

I knew I could continue to work at Commerzbank AG while studying at Frankfurt School. This is only possible because of the outstanding “3- Day Model” study model, meaning students can find an extended working student position working up to three days a week. This does not only mean that you gain work experience during your studies and therefore increase your employability,  but you can also finance your studies independently.

Nevertheless, this was not the only thing that impressed me about Frankfurt School. The courses run consecutively from semester to semester and the unique teaching style delivered by the professors allows students on this pre-experience programme, who come from a range of academic backgrounds, to become experts in finance. The individual support offered by the professors is outstanding; they will always answer every question you have, whether it’s before, during or after class!

One thing that I do need to mention is that the high amount of international students at Frankfurt School is extremely  refreshing. Getting to know people from all over the world is amazing; you hear different languages and learn about new cultures just by being on campus and talking to your class mates.

All in all, the Master of Finance at Frankfurt School has been the best decision so far. Working and studying simultaneously is an amazing opportunity that no other school offers in the same way and it is so enriching to spend free time with people from a range of different countries. At Frankfurt we really do have the world on our campus.
