Switching gears: Transitioning from Engineering to Management

Opting for a Master in Management degree seemed like a natural progression for me. Despite possessing strong analytical skills that I cultivated through my engineering background, I recognised the need to enhance my soft skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of financial and managerial concepts.

In February, our team, comprising Cloe de Leo, Tomislav Aleksic, Vato Vepkhvadze and Martha Zoller, had the extraordinary opportunity to represent Frankfurt School at the IE Business School 2024 Case Competition in Madrid. The competition was challenging yet enlightening, pitting us against eight other globally renowned universities over one intense week.

In the fast-evolving domain of retail, the adage "location, locality, area" has never lost its significance. However, determining the optimal spot for a new retail outlet involves a complex interplay of data analysis, artificial intelligence, and a deep understanding of urban geography.

Ich blicke nun auf eine sehr intensive und auch anstrengende Zeit zurück, die ich aber stets in guter Erinnerung behalten werde. Für mich hat sich das Studium definitiv gelohnt, da es mir nicht nur zum beruflichen, sondern auch zum persönlichen Erfolg und zur persönlichen Weiterentwicklung verholfen hat.

Angesichts meiner beruflichen Laufbahn hätte es nahegelegen, mit einer klassischen Weiterbildung wie dem Bankfachwirt zu beginnen und darauf aufzubauen.
