Back in the day, I took a risk and quit my secure job in commodity management. There is no better investment than into your own education they say, but actually doing it was frightening. It was Frankfurt School who eased my start and guided me in my development. Today I am looking back with pride, realizing my choice of university to be the best I could make. The “FS Spirit” motivates me to outperform myself and various corporate events in combination with student initiatives allow cross-sector insights, that I can grow from.
I still remember the time when I was doubtful about the major and the university. Should I study in an overseas place like San Francisco, in a European metropole like London, or a venerable place like Vienna. When I got to know Frankfurt School, I had many options at hand but felt attracted right from my first visit. The modern campus in combination with the international environment, which is bringing together students from more than 25 countries caught my interest. Offering a Master in Management program with a clear structure and committed targets within this international environment matched my needs.
Right from day one, Frankfurt School knew how to integrate the new intake into campus life. Formal events like the outdoor campus and informal spirit events made me feel like a longstanding member and encouraged interaction between all students, regardless of their major or age. Due to the fact that my bachelor’s in mechanical engineering is not the typical previous education for a management master, I took the three-day model as a chance to cover additional workload. Luckily, I got along well and joined more and more student initiatives, conferences, and career service events on regular basis. This was the best I could do, as these extracurricular events shaped me the most. Frankfurt School is offering an entire campus experience throughout all seasons and with state-of-the-art hygiene measures also during the pandemic.
Besides the valuable lectures, corporate events with renewed speakers from the industry allow practical insights and help to grow your network. From time-to-time, even business conferences are hosted on campus. For me, those endless cross-industry contact points, represent the greatest advantage. I arrived with a technical background from the automotive industry and got to know the economic tools, use cases, and very diverse business insights. Therefore, I am looking into the future with optimism, even though the pandemic will hamper the job market situation.
