“MBA during the pandemic?” they asked. Everyone advised me to defer. Instead, I went ahead with the decision to pursue my Full-time MBA at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and never looked back.
The Full-time MBA experience at Frankfurt School has been amazing. Before moving to Germany last October, I was working as a Solutions Architect for 4 years at Akamai Technologies in Bangalore, India. My job involved technical consulting, designing and implementing solutions for the customers using Akamai products. During the time at Akamai, I was working with the customers and stakeholders in Germany, who enlightened me about the fascinating culture and life here. After a couple of years working as a Solutions Architect, I realised I was working on just a part of the problem but lacked the holistic understanding of business that would have enabled me to help the customers at a greater scale.
That is when the idea of doing an MBA occurred, which led me to search for the programmes that would be the right fit for my interests and background. My long-term goal has always been to work in the automotive industry and I decided to look for programmes in the heart of the automotive world – Germany. It took a lot of research to find the right programme. I also spoke to some of my colleagues and friends in Germany, who advised me about the MBA programmes here. I chose Frankfurt School because it entailed a range of business components and introductions to fascinating topics such as Digital Marketing and Managerial Data Science. The highlight of the programme so far have been the electives, such as Start-up Bootcamp, which appealed to me the most. The programme also included the option to hear about trending technical courses such as Blockchain and AI from industry experts and experienced faculty, which was relevant and compelling to me since I come from a technical background.
The learning curve in the last seven months of the MBA programme has been exponential for me. The case studies, discussions and interactions with an international class with diverse perspectives, have been very informative. Even during the pandemic, Frankfurt School has ensured the continued quality of education and experience.
A lot of students hesitate to apply to such remarkable MBA programmes here in Germany because of a lack of knowledge of the local language. Germany is a great place to enhance your career and has excellent job opportunities. Frankfurt School provides the right skill courses and offers German language lessons, to help us prepare for the workforce after graduating.
